What kind of work are you interested in? Theres a lot of IT and computer tech jobs out here that pay pretty good, but there are some good industries in this area, just need to know what you want to do. Also we have a GM factory here in arlington, they are union and pay more than you could imagine.

I do not have the knowledge for IT or computer tech.

Working at GM may not be bad either. I have been to Walmart Distribution Center up here in IL and I hated the politics. No Union to help either. But there work pace is tremendous, fast and heavy lifting. I could do something like that again. I have been a machinist but he didn't have the new computerized ones that everyone is using, so I have no knowledge in that either. I have also done landscaping and do not want to go back to that unless the pay is really good. I am currently working in a food factory as a line operator/machine operator. I am currently learning a little Spanish as nice older Spanish lady is teaching me as about 30 people I work with speak Spanish. LOL I also have a forklift license from Crest Foods (where I work) and I had one at Walmart.

That is some of my work history.

Jon

EDIT: I am also a volunteer FF and I will try to get a EMT license here soon, but it might not be soon enough.

There are lots of good fire jobs down here, but you'll need to be a paramedic to get the really good ones. I'm a paramedic in Arlington, and i love it, even though where i work doesn't pay very well, but i work for a private service not a fire department. There are also quite a few manufacturing and machining jobs in this area also, although i don't know how the pay compares to the national average.

Does GM have a website or something to apply for a job down there?

Thanks! But FF/EMT is not what I wanna do full time, just on a volunteer basis.

There is a Walmart distribution center here in Cleburne, about 30 miles from where we live, and another in Denton, about an hour up the road.

I do not wanna work for Walmart again. Sorry, but they are what taught me to work hard and long. And I am proud of that thing only from them.
