Wiring for trailer breaks on an '05
Wiring for trailer breaks on an '05
Hey guys,
Just wondering if my '05 1 ton comes with a "wire" or a "port" under the dash where I can hook up a controler or whatever I need to wire up electric breaks on a flat deck car hauler trailer?
And if so, which readily available aftermarket controler do you guys recommend.
I might have to do this in a harry, as I plan on buying a new trailer on my way home from work, which is 700 miles from home.
Thanks guys,
Igor.

Yours should have come with a pigtail that plugs in under the dash near the firewall. My pigtail was in the glove box. If yours does not have one, you should be able to get one from your local dealer for around $20. Prodigy is a very nice brake controller.
The pigtail I got from Dodge was under my back seat with the Front Brack for plates.
I use the Prodigy, it is a very good controller. One thing also is I just forked out the 12 bucks extra to get the Dodge Harness with the controller. No spicing the poor pigtail from dodge... Just click click and you are done.
Got my prodigy from Rvwholesalers.net for 89 bucks... I could not even come close to that price local.

big blue connector under the drivers dash, towards the left side, should be around a large wiring connector, you should have had a pigtail when bought, but if yours is like mine, it was taken out during the inspection so I could go back later and buy it back from them. Real easy, plug it in, wire it to your box.....vroommmmm!!! Is it already wired out the rear?? I'm using a cheap box, bought 4.5 years ago....still working well, have heard good things about tecumseh, but to rich for my blood when the inexpensive one has done the job so well. just my .02
Yes ther is one however if your truck did NOT come with the TT package then the blue brake control wire is NOT run. Look under the dash just up above the parking brake. behind the wireing there is a blue connector, that is where you plug into. Check your Marooney sticker to see if yours came with the TT Package or have your dealer do a VIN check and print it out for you.
