Question Whats a good lift height for towing?

I plan on pulling a Take 3 53ft trailer and I was wondering what would be a all around good lift that I can put on my truck?

I was thinking about a 3in or a 5 in lift from the known venders. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I would not do it if you are going to pull. Just my 2 cents.

You could run 35s with a leveling kit, I would not want to tow much with tires any bigger than that. I would reccomend a leveling kit, and air bags to keep it from being nose high if you want to be able to run bigger tires.

Lift

My truck is older. I noticed it was level unloaded. When loaded w/airbags it lowered 2 inches and I wanted a level ride. I used a set of blocks on the rear axle that was 2 inches taller than stock. (steel only) Now it sits 2 inches higher in the rear when empty and level w/5th wheel hooked. This gives me a level trailer when towing and a level truck. Also a side note at this height (53" to the plate) I am at the height limit allowed by my company for the hitch plate. If you have plans for commercial towing you might want to do some measuring and check company requirements.

You've got the longest trailer possible, go with the highest lift available.

2" in the front with 35's feels real good to me. Lot's of guys run a 265/70/19.5. Those are about as tall as my BFG's.

I've taken about 1000lbs in tongue weight. With the air bags it feels nice.

Just for comparison I would say though that lower is better.

6" lift with 37's and 20's and ooh my god if you hit any freeway ruts look out you were going to be controlled by the ruts... I towed my 30' work trailer all of the time wasn't too bad but after I got rid of the 05 and went to the 06 and tow there is no comparison smoother the truck doesn't have to work nearly as hard (pushing taller tire and wind drag). I am going to put on 35's but that is it...

I would like to convert to a dually. What all would I need to convert? I know I would need the megcabs fenders on the rear, rear axles and Im not sure what else? The way Im looking at it now is if I cant get the lift look then Im going with the big rig set up. For example the cab roof lights, big-rig wheels and adapters from American Force Wheels and tires.

Look up d.wiggs. He's a member and he has the best lookin 3rd gen out there!!!!! PM him about towing w/ a lift and ect. I think that's what he does for a living, or atleast he will know.
And I agree, don't lift it for towing....only reason mine is stock is b/c I tow, and I only tow a jeep or two. A lift never makes for a good ride, towing or not!
