I have a SWB Laramie, not a Megacab but I have a Valley (AKA Huskey) slider hitch. I used it on my '98 for 8 years, then moved it to my '06. I did replace the hitch head this year because I found a crack. It could have been welded but it had over 55K miles pulling so I just replaced it. The slider portion has always worked perfectly (except once when I had it in a bind) although, truth to tell I seldom actually use it. Probably a dozen times in 8 years with the old truck and 2 or 3 times with this one. It is manual, not automatic which would be nice but not for the extra $, IMO.

if you don't want to spend the money on the superglide, then check out www.fifthairbourne.com. click on the link for the sidewinder pinbox. i currently have a 16k reese slider. if i would have known about the superglide when i bought mine i probably would have bought it. i have made contact with my cab once. just crinkled the rear pillar a little no broken glass. once you decide on the hitch then take the truck and trailer to an open lot or dead end street and make turns with someone watching the pinch poit at the cab. while you're making your turn count how many turns to the steering wheel you did, then you know how sharp of a turn you can make.

I don't understand why you aren't interested in the Pullrite superglide hitch. It's worked great for me the last two years.

The cost of a standard hitch, and the Fith Airborne Sidewinder is darn near the same as a Superglide. So there's no big cost savings in that choice.
