The biggest killer would be water damage. Check for soft spots in the floor, drips around water pipes, signs of damage around windows, etc. Other than that make sure everything works.

Yeah, I have dutch 5th wheel, and that camper gets more water leaks every year than my garden hose in the drive way when it gets ran over. Also, if you notice water damage of any kind on the ceilings then know that the 2x4 in the walls will be damaged.

You get what you pay for (hopefully).
1) Check the frame, hitch area, axles for rust, etc. Got to have a solid platform or nothing else matters.
2) When you get it, pull the wheels and repack the bearings. Check the brakes. You'll want working brakes on both axles. Make sure the lights are working.
3) The integrity of the walls and roof - leaks, rot, etc. Roofs can be re-sealed, bad sections of floor replaced.
4) Systems: Plumbing, fresh water, black water, grey water, LP systems, any furnace or A/C, fridge, any on-board battery, any 30/50amp connector, any generator - depends on what you have and what you are going to use.
Be careful as to size and weight with a 2500. 25' bumper pulls can weigh in around 4-5,000#, bigger = more weight.
Hope this helps. Happy Camping !
