Westlake ST100 Trailer Tires

I bought my lil 23 foot 5th wheel travel trailer in 2008. Put new tires on them right away, repacked the wheel bearings and went through the brakes at the same time. Wife said, well those tires look okay, why change them. I said because here in my driveway I can shop for a decent deal and its no hassle. Would you prefer to shop on the side of the highway in the middle of BFE? Bright lady, she got it right away....
I put Maxxis tires on because that's what the local tire shop had in stock.
I'm headed to the Grand Canyon this weekend and was airing up my Maxxis tires and saw the DOT code that put them at late 2007 manufacture. Wow, has it really been that long? Man, they've worn fine. Well the only tires in stock around here were absolutely No-Name-O chinese tires and the Westlake ST100 so I bought a set. If they'd had Maxxis, I'd definitely have bought them. These Westlakes are load range E radials. The cost was $430 out the door for the set. I hope they last as well as the last set of tires. Anybody run them??
Safe travels folks. H.

I know this is an old, dead post, but how did the Westlake's fare for you? I just bought a new gooseneck horse trailer with new Westlake 14plys. TERRIBLE! Had a blow out on the way home with an empty trailer. A friend that has a tire shop said they are garbage tires. I change all 4 out for better tires.

I have pair of Westlake tires on my '98 SRW 3500 tow rig. The tires have taken me as far away from home as Moab Utah and back to VT with a loaded trailer.
I have been running them for a few years now with good results. They where pretty cheap for E rated 285 tires.

Sorry for the late reply. The Westlake were good tires and I had zero problems. They were on the 5er when I sold it. Pulling a trailer is a crap-shoot adventure, no matter how you slice it! Hope you have good luck with them no matter whose you buy. H.
