Truck and fiver together...at last!
Truck and fiver together...at last!
Wanted to see how the new Ram towed so I hooked up the Sunnybrook and went for a lil ride. The Ram towed nicely, having a longbed is a plus, dont have to worry about how far you can turn. Have right at 6 inches between the bed and fiver. Cant get any more unless I do the axle flip, and really dont want to do that. It's 2 inches higher in the front than the back, hopefully this will be okay.
Truck is almost as long as the camper. ;D

Nice setup.
Did yo try adjusting the pinbox up so the front sits down more?
I thought that brand of 5vr had adjustable spring heights?
Oh, well, looks great anyway.
Here's mine

Re:Truck and fiver together...at last!
The pin box will not go up any more. Sunnybrook has adjusting shackles and I have them set to the highest setting, it lifts the camper off the axle about 4 inches. It's amazing how much it squats when the fiver is hitched! I was worried I wouldnt have much clearance between the truck and camper.
We are going to PirateLand at MB Wednesday, it's about a 300 mile trip. Kinda interested in seeing what kind of mileage I get.

Re:Truck and fiver together...at last!
From what I hear the back bearings will get hot. I have a friend that had to flip his and have spacers made to get his to set level. He almost cooked his back bearings. I use an inferred temp sensor on long trips just to keep an eye on mine. You might want to take a test drive with someone following you to see if there is any sway at high way speeds.
I was lucky mine came with the axels flipped and set just right.
Nice looking rig.
