Trailer Width Limit?

Trailer Width Limit?

Local GN trailer sales/builder said that 102" wide trailers are illegal in 8 states (except on interstates), one of these is Hawaii. Prior to spec'ing out trailer, can anyone tell me if this correct; and if so, which states? Thanks.

most lanes are 8ft wide so 102 is what i have heard too. my trailer i use is at 100 but it is deck over. jiMMy
