Trailer brakes hook up......

Trailer brakes hook up......

Just bought a 98. I was looking around inside glove box and found a plug with wires in it. I think it for the trailer braking system. Where on the truck does this plug into. I'm sure it some where under the dash but looking to be alittle more specific as to the location. Thanks Ken

Ken my 98 2500 had the trailer package and brake plug to hook up a controller was by the e brake up by the rest of the wires. Good luck keep us posted

Its a blue plug, kinda up above the parking brake.

Get some light underneath the dash and it'll be easier to see, just above the spot where the E-brake hits the floor; do you know how to wire your controller into it?

The plug has everything labeled on the wires. So it should be a matter of matching them up with the controller I would think. Correct me if i'm wrong

Thats right. The directions that came with my controller told me which wires to connect to the harness and then you just plug it in. Peice of cake.

If you like the prodigy controllers, they will likely make a harness (for ~$20) that plugs into the truck & into the controller...no soldering or crimping, just moutning the controller!

Soldering doesn't bother me either....But, proper crimping is ALWAYS better than soldering!

It's a done deal. I bought a controller today and hooked it up. It's good to go.
