Trailer brake lockup

I have a tandem axle trailer w/single hydraulic drum brakes. I completely rebuilt the brakes last spring....cyclinders, pads and lines. After stopping, one side won't release and keeps tension. When driving, I don't notice it until smoke begins to pour from the wheel area. I have to stop and open the bleeder valve to get the cyclinder to release pressure. When installing everything, I gravity bled the system, tested it all and it worked fine for awhile but I'm not sure what could keep causing this issue. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Possible bad brake hose at that wheel. Sometimes they collapse on the inside, holding the pressure on the brakes.

The thing is, they're metal lines directly to the cyclinders, except prior to the t-fitting where it transitions to the axle. Wouldn't both sides be holding pressure?

I'm guessing in order to determine the cause, I'll have to disassemble all of it. pita.
