trailer brake controller issue

every once in a while my tekonsha trailer brake controller flashes n.c (no connection). i've put off troubleshooting it cuz i haven't needed to tow anything in quite a while. but when i see it flash n.c, it racks my brain trying to think of what the heck the problem could be. i don't know if it's a wiring issue within the socket or one of the 4 wires behind the controller. normally it flashes n.c when the truck is first started, but goes away after a few seconds. help!! i'm not an electrical wizard

My Brakesmart does that when I haven't towed in awhile. Sometimes I can clear it with the reset button (don't know if tekonsha has one). Other times I unplug the connection on the back & replug it & all is well.

My P3 tekonsha controller will check for trailer connection when first started. If no trailer flashes N/C for 1 or 2secs then goes normal display. If trailer present, normal display showing power to trailer brakes.
If you are getting the N/C which trailer present then you have a brake line problem(blue wire). Check for breaks or corrision in connector.

even if it flashes every once in a while? it doesn't do it all the time. like yours, mine flashes n.c for a couple seconds after start-up, then goes away. but only a few times while driving, i've caught it flashing n.c. i'll try unplugging it and see if that "resets" it.

think i figured it out. positive terminal on my battery was loose and the truck wouldn't start even with jumpers. when i pulled the terminal to clean it, the eye terminal on the wire to the circuit breaker broke off at the cable terminal. tightened the battery terminal. truck starts now, but need to splice a new eye terminal to the controller's power wire. i'm going to build new cables. probably dual batteries too.
