Towing With Mistery Switch
Just got back from camping trip in the Grate Smoky Mountains of N.C. Experienced some 9* grades with my 29.5 5er with total weight of truck and camper 23,700 lb. It was awesome when I could get the beast to lock up tc in second. But I could not get it to do it every time have been putting off installing the switch that you can manually lock up the tc when you want to. Has any body towed with this mod if you have tell me how you like it or not.
I liked mine a whole lot. Never had a problem with it towing it actually keep my temps down and just made it a lot easier on the truck over all. I recommend doing it if your gonna use it just for towing. For racing unless you have a lot of mods i wouldnt use it for racing. My new truck i dont have to worry bout all that lol.
I have and I like it. First I installed a led light that tells me the T/C is locked. I realized that adding the switch would help. I use it for braking and I use it towing to keep the trans cool. It is about information. You do not use it often but it is nice to have to help out, especially in the mountains.
PS one of the best additions I have added is the rear sway bar for mountain driving. You have much more control when driving mountain roads.

When the tc wasn't locked up I would see egt about 1200 tranny temp. 250+ eng. temp 215. When it was 750 egt 180 tranny 195 eng. so it has to better on motor and tranny and your right when it is locked the tranny will hold it back on hills. As for the sway bar your right and I guess it was a cost cutting thing be caused I had 98 2500 12v before this one and it had over loads and a sway bar. So it is what a 3500 is today.
