I just bought a 26' TT and the Equil-i-zer hitch. The dealer sold it to me for $400.00 (the 12,000#)
It is much better than then other WD/add on sway controls that I have used in the past.
Very heavy duty system IMO.

Well,
I've checked all the bolts in the rear and there all tight. I think the reese hitch and some 14 ply tires might be in order.
What do you guy's think about a duelly conversion? I think I read a thread on one the other day. Maybe it will solve my problem. I really don't want to get rid of my 2500, it took me a long time to find one in this good of shape. But who knows, maybe I'll find one.
On another note, my wife wants me to buy a new truck for her, not sure if I should go with a duelly or the 3500 with the duel wheel delete. Anyone have preferances? Is it worth getting the 600?
Thanks again for the suggestions,
Ron

There is no majic in dual wheels. They just double the capacity. If you equip a single wheeled truck with tires that are within the capacity of the load you are ok. Many big trucks run single wheels that are heavier. As long as the tires are heavy enough the stability is there also.
I ran the 14 ply tires single pulling my loads. I got 25,000 to 28,000 miles out of a pair on the rear. I converted to dual wheels now I replace four of them at around 60,000. No real savings either. The Dana 80 rear axle will take the load just fine. My truck with the 3/4 ton rear still has its original axle bearings.

Just a thought:
I pull a 16,000# gooseneck and with the '02 2500 truck was all over the road, causing trailer to sway. This truck had the helper springs, so not as much pin weight.
Now the new '04, same trailer and weight, pulls no problems, no swaying. There is more weight of trailer on truck(also less on front axle), but I am positive most has to do with steering set up on truck.
Both are 2500 4x4 QC SB.
