Is there a toy hauler that will carry my....
Hey fellas, I want to hit the track with my Porsche 944 and have been looking for a toy hauler to haul it. Dont want a car hauler as I want to camp at the track. Went to La Mesa RV and the guy said they dont make one....Well I stood there and looked at a $50K tripple axel Toy hauler and couldnt believe it wont carry a 2400lbs car. Is he right?? I want somthing that my stock 2500 '09 4x4 can pull with my 2400lb 5' x 15' car inside that I can sleep in at the end of the day. I prefer bumper pull....Any ideas???

2400 pounds? I'm assuming you've done the weight reduction deletes because a stock 944 weighs in around 3300 pounds.
I hate saying it, but he might be right ..... most manufacturers won't build for something that heavy unless you went with a custom rig.
You *could* do it with a customized bumper pull car hauler and then add some living quarters to it, or find someone custom building them this way for race car pullers. I've seen one on CL that was in good shape for around $10k. I'll see if I can find the post and PM you.

(Edit)
Found one of the two I was looking for .... the CL add had expired, but this was posted on another forum:

83/early 944s weigh in at 2900+-. This car has been stripped to race 944 spec. Weight with driver can be no less than 2600. I weigh 250 so my car is 2350+-. Further research indicates you are right. I may be better off with an enclosed car hauler and adding living quarters....

Not sure what you guys are looking at, but most toy hauler manufacturers make units that have capacity up to 5900lbs..
Not so much in a bumper pull version, but 5th wheel units for sure.. Raptor makes several bumper pulls that can carry 4k lbs, the issue there is space.. you may not have the room to put that car in there.. Weekend warrior (now warrior lifestyles) makes some also..
I did some research a couple years back, because I was looking to haul a 6k 4x4... not so much luck there..
also google for car haulers with living quarters.. some options there..

If I was looking to do the same as you are, I would consider this route. I think it is a well thought out rig.

Ever consider a used race car 5th wheel enclosed trailer as the US economy is crap and they are a dime a dozen in sizes from 30-53'? Check out racing junk.com in the towables section, $20k will buy a nice trailer designed for your car and be fully equipped.

check out TPD trailers. they will make anything you want, reasonably! I had a 29' bumper pull toyhauler that worked until we got a sandrail, then a TPD 24' enclosed trailer. FANTASTIC quality, build-to-suit, a bit utilitarian, but once you use a leaf blower and hose to clean your trailer there's NO going back.

My parents have a 28" toy haller that their Mazda Miata will fit in (length, width, weight). But there is no way it will get up the ramp. The approach angle is too steep and it would high center. They thought it would be fun to run to the coast and camp. Throw the Miata in to run around in. But it is a no go.

Featherlite makes awesome trailers for race cars based on horse trailer setup but with a nice shop in the back and a shallow ramp for loading the car.
This one is local to me but you can find them from time to time on EBay too.
