Loud,

it only depends how far into the RPMS you go, i usually shift at 2000 rpms and when towing i keep it at 2000 rpms, with a banks stinger it dont bother me, but i do have drone at 2200 with the stinger exhaust.. Im thinkin of straight pipin it just to tee off environmentalists and ppl who think my truck is a menace... plus i love the sound too...

Best of luck

Tx

A well placed sock will quiet down the yammering so you can enjoy that straight pipe roar

I've been told by friend that my truck can be heard from a mile away...

But that same person is just surprise as hell when they ride in the truck. Don't get me wrong you can hear it. But like rattlin' said you can sleep through it...

Mine has been straight-piped for years and the grandbaby has slept in her carseat with the QC wing-windows open since she took her first ride at the age of six months. She's three and a half now and watches her DVD movies back there now. NO PROBLEM,,,,
I did find out that the wife could only stand about 10 minutes of having the slider open when towing,,,,,,,,,,,, it's rather LOUD when pulling hard! Too much wind coming in through there anyway when towing the 5er,,,,,

HOSS..... this is right up there with the concrete bedliner.......

Rattlinram, maybe you should have the slide out in the 'in' position when towing.
I guess I should clarify that the grandbaby would fall asleep in her carseat in the back seat of the truck when we took her on trips. Even with the QC wing-windows open,,,,, now that she is three and a half,,,,, she watches DVD movies in the back seat with no problems.
And the slider I was refering to is the rear sliding glass window of the truck,,,,,,,, NOT the slide-outs on the 5er.

Mine is turned out in front of the passenger side rear wheel. I kept the resonator with no muffler. Sounds like a big truck and the sound is fine inside the cab. It's also right about window height to them little imports. If you hear to much bump going on just rev it up a time or two and get em. If you blow black smoke it would be even better.

I was wondering is there any performance gain or is it just for noise? Don't get me wrong, if there is anything I miss from the Hemi it was the loud pipes.

Thanks! Usta

All I have to say is, you might just want to look for a 4" system with a straight through muffler. I bought mine with a straight pipe. I thought it was a nice sound. I hooked up my 5er and hated it ever since. Loudest SOB you ever did hear. And the Drone..... I guess I am too old. I saw cooler EGTs, similar if not better turbo spoolup, higher boost levels with my 4' MBRP system as with the 3" straight pipe. I would just get a 4" system. I love my MBRP system.

I think that the 05 will be quieter than the 95 due to the fact that I will leave the cat. The 95 did not have a cat.

Correct? Usta

The cat on the newer trucks are a sentient being who will promptly vanish into midair as soon as the muffler is removed, forcing you to put pipe in it's place, from my experience...
