San Diego Area Beach RV Camping

Anybody have some good info on RV'ing on the beach near San Diego? I looked at Pendleton/Del Mar and the camp sites look very cramed together. Looking for something that gives us a little space between trailers with an ocean view. If this isnt attainable I'd like to know.

If you haven't already left, we've camped at all the below SD beaches with our 38 ft fiver. I ranked them best to worst with respect to your distance between campsites:
1. San Clement State Park - Full Hookups
2. Camp Pendleton North Campground (AD/ret. military only) Full Hookups
3. Fiddlers Cove, Coronado (AD/ret military only) No hookups
4. Camp Pendleton South Campground (AD/ret. military only) Full hookups
5. Silver Strand State Beach no hookups

some of the spots are for smaller rigs on the interior loop most all the beach sigths will handle the bigger rigs ,my 5er is 33' . I used google earth the first time to find a spot that was able to take my rig. and they will let you check out a spot to see if you fit, some are deep and narrow and others have room to park next to your 5er.
and as far as any bad things about the park and we have been going there for 10+ years now is its has a metro link rail line on the east side and you will hear it during the day (not to bad ) and there are some homeless people who walk through at times and park rangers have said not to leave stuff out because they will steal it! But in 10 years we have never 1x been messed with and the hosts have been real good about keeping it quiet .the only time we had a bad experience was when some clown ran his gen.all day long because he had no battery in his camper and he was in the spot next to us .but we spent 90% of the time on the beach or bike riding down the coast,to me for an LA area park its nice ,some are just paved parking lots with no trees backed up against oil refinery bulk tank farms that stink , and San Clemente is nice to but your up on the cliffs.

San Elijo and Carlsbad State Beach(especially Carlsbad) are nice. If you can wait until after Labor Day when the mob goes home, that would be good. Reservations are necessary.
Silver Strand is crammed in.
