rv transport

Well I'm looking to do a career move..I work in a automotive factory and things are getting pretty bad..so I been looking into rv transporting..I've noticed their is a few of you on here and I got some questions..I know I'm not gonna get rich but can I make a decent living in this business? Is their steady work out there or is it getting slow? Do you guys haul a load then deadhead back or can you get back hauls? If their is any information or any companys you can let me know about I would appericate it..thanks

Its dead. I used to run 8000 paid miles a month now I am lucky to get 3000. There is a waiting list to get a load, ours is about a week, some guys with other companies are more. I have heard over 200 on the list over at Quality.

Plus from the looks of your truck it not really a set up to tow, they want 3500 and 2500's, longbeds, and the lift would not fly either.

Don't do it to get into transporting. Myself I am on the hunt for a job too, it been 8 days since my last load and from the looks of it I may be lucky to get one by the end of next week. Can't survive on 2-3 loads a month.

Heard today that now Dutchmen is only running production every other week, and most the others are 2-3 days a week. Its going to be interesting to see was companies are still here next year.
