Reverse (backup) cameras
Reverse (backup) cameras
I am looking at a cabcam wireless system. Seems like it might be worthwhile but not 100% sure. The biggest benefit maybe getting to see behind enclosed trailers when backing. What are some of you all doing? http://www.garagerobertcarrier.com/m...0%20CabCAM.pdf

using the factory back up cam on the new truck but will be doing something similar to the one you are looking at when I get my new 36' GN
Beware of the cheap ones that are made to mount on the back of a vehicle by the license plate bracket, with the transmitter and receiver, pretty close. On the longer trailers, if the camera's transmitter is mounted too far away, the reception will be crappy. I bought a cheap one (~$80 at Sams) and cut the wires for the transmitter so that I could mount the transmitter on the front end of our 5th wheel, while still being able to have the camera at the back of the 5th. Works, OK, picture still blinks in and out, because I think there is still too much distance between the transmitter and receiver.
Those ones look nice for the money. Be aware, the barrier free distance range looks good, but the actual distance it will be good at is quickly reduced by having a trailer between the wireless parts.

I ordered the 3 camera, we'll see how it goes.
I got my camera from www.rvcams.com . The guy there was very helpfull.
It was the 5.6" screen, cost me a little over $300. Works great for me. I can see in the dark even. I put it in the center when it's needed.
