Requirement for pulling in Ontario?

A friend of mine asked me what you need legally to pull horse trailers in Ontario with farm plates on your truck. I understand that a "G" class will allow up to 4600kgs for a trailer. What about "D" or "A"? I do understand the concepts of them and what a "Z" is. What about stickers and insurance? C.V.O.R.?
I went to the Ministry of Transport and they were no help. I'm sure the D.O.T. has a different book all together.

Thanks, Jeff

Dood,I am glad I live in Alabama. We have 2 classes of farm tags. F1 and F2, F2 for 26k GCVW and up. Much easier than all that stuff in Ontario you mentioned. Maybe I am glad to be a redneck from Alabama.

I am no expert just an Ontario driver.
The license has to do with the vehicle that you are driving. The D license is the first step up to truck licences which is your five ton split dif capacity. Z is for air brakes. The advice that is abundant on this site about axle loading and GVCW and such has I think more to so with your questions as to what you can tow with your individual vehicle, working within the limitations or specs of your vehicle for safety is the challenge. I seem to want to do more with less and the prudent thing is to have more truck with greater capacity then required not less.
Seasonal greetings!
