Current tires are Hercules All Tracs LT235/85R16. Got about 30000 miles out of a set of six. Not bad for all terrains, but not good either.

Not offroading anymore, just need good rain tires. Looking to replace with BFG Commercial T/A All Season, Cooper SRM II, or Kelly Safari CSR.

So far, Costco has the best price on the BFG's by a longshot over
Big 10.

Opinions? I'm sure everyone has one!

 

I love the tires in my sig. i don't have to use 4wd near as often under adverse conditions.

 

I just bought some all terrain sxt from Les Schwabs. They are made by Avon 235/65/16 . These tires are sipped and should run cooler & give a little better traction in rain & snow. Don't know what kind of miles I will get out of them. I use my ctd for towing my 32ft 5vr. it isn't my daily driver.
I drive a big rig & get my tires from Schwabs because there are 350 stores through out the nw & get good service. The tires are sipped on my big truck also. I'v got 265,000 miles on that truck & only changed out 2 sets of steering tires 1 set of front drive tires & have16 original trailer tires. Don't I wish I could get that kind of miles out of my pick up tires.

 

Just got a price of $2k for 12 tires for mine and my sons truck. Going with Michelins cause I got 75000 out of the first six on mine and well over 66000 on the set on there now..

 

Definitely Michelins here. I went up a size from stock on the previous set I had on there (originals 245, 75, 16) next set (265,75,16 load E). I got 65,000 miles on those.

Just replaced them last week with a bigger set (Michelin LTX M/S 285, 75, 16 load D). They don't make them in E loads. Cost me a reasonable $950. Just finished a long distance haul of 2,000 miles and loved them. Great wear, good traction in snow and rain, no road noise, good gas mileage.

The bigger tires lowers my RPM when pulling down the expressway to about 1700 at 65mph.

The only drawback is that my spedo is off by about 6 mph.
Also odometer is tricked. You really have more miles on truck than it says.
Michelins all the way, nothing else!

 

Look at www.tirerack.com and check out the reviews. I did and choose Yokohama Geolander HTs for my mainly highway driving but they have some great looking ATs and much less expensive than the BFGoodrich or Michelins. I have had them for 15k mile and great in dry, wet and snow. I don't off road but have not had a problem getting into my cabin with 2 feet of snow at all.

I've ran the bfg's and they last about 20 to 25k on the rear with weight and places i go. Went to Michelin's xps' on the rear and i get twice the mileage out of my tires now and they handle the weight great. i dont like the way they handle on the front so i still run the bfg's and still go thru a set twice a year. I avg about 45k to 55k miles a year and 75% of that is towing

 

Well, after reviewing all the data, I decided to bite the bullet and go with the Kelly CSR's. Big 10 had the best price and they were in stock @ $125 ea. For ten bucks less (per tire) I could have gotten the SJR's, but I wanted the reliability of the commercial tire.
