Relay for trailers/marker lights?

Many Gen 2's have issues with trailers, needing a relay to handle the extra current.
Where is the best place to find one?
Is it mounted in the trailer, or in the truck?
This is for a 18' HD utility trailer, just 4 lights. My fiver has a relay installed in it by the RV dealer, using the trailers batterries. The 18' has a small battery in it, in theory, for a break away switch.
Looking for advice from other trailer haulers on what they did, wht it costs, how easy to install, where to get it.

A 2002 with the trailer tow package already has a relay for the trailer's tail/marker lights. It's in the power distribution module under the hood on the driver's side fender well - it's the black plastic box on whose cover we all Velcro our EZs!

Why doesn't the owners manuel explain that? It just says you need to get one, or blow the switch, maybe?

Dunno. I don't have my truck here at work, but IIRC either the owner's manual or the diagram inside the PDM cover showed one of the relays with a label of "trailer" - that's the lighting relay. The very early 2nd generation trucks didn't have this relay and would burn up the headlight switches, but a TSB introduced what Dodge called a "wiring harness overlay" that added this relay onto the 94-96 vintage trucks. All the later trucks had the relay from the git-go if they had the trailer tow package.
