I have a Drawtite 16k slider hitch and have had no problems at all with it in either truck. (it was originally in a chevy gasser sb) I am sure as long as you stay within the manufacturer's ratings on it you will be fine. I don't recall ever hearing of one failing while towing within the ratings.

You might post this same question on RV.NET
You would probably have a dozen responses to the same question there.

All of the Reese Sliders that I have installed I have had virtually no negative reports on.

However, just this last week I had a guy that came in to my shop complaining that his reese slider (which by the way he did not buy from my shop, nor have us install it) would come unlocked by inself and let the trailer slide back and then slam forward with every accel/brake (I have yet to tear into his slider assembly to figure out why it is doing this, could be user error)

Remember though, this is the first time I have heard it and I have installed Countless 5th wheel hitches.

Is it a square tube slider or the new round tube? Is it the complete hitch or just the slider assembly?

I have had a reese slider for two years. Only problem I had was it wouldn't slide when new but it was a minor alignment problem that the installer fixed right away. Other than that, It has been a quality piece of equipment. $250 sounds like a good deal
