RBK 5th hitch?

I found a guy selling a complete RBK 16k fifth wheel hitch. Havent seen it yet.

Are RBK hitches good ones? Im new to these 5th hitches and dont know which are beter or which are not as good.

Also how bout Reese are they beter ones?

Is there something about the hitch lock on some thats beter?

Rick

RBW or Reece are both good hitches. They have a different hitch style head that locks around the pin. The Reese locks like the pin like semi-trucks use and the RBW uses a sliding bar type. One is not superior over the other. I would suggest that it should be a four way pivot head [tilts front to back and side to side]. That makes the hitching and unhitching process much smoother. I've had both over the years with no probs from either...........JIM

Yea its a RBW not RBK and I saw one at the store . It has a slide bar that Just seems like it would not be as secure as something that surrounds the pin more.

Im not to impressed with the RBW. Though it might be a good hitch.

Found a Reese 16k dual pivot, near new ,used for $500 complete and a 14K used pullrite for $250 maybe used alot. Ill have to go look at them .

I have had a RBW 15k Lil Rocker hitch for over 2 years now with no problems at all. It has always been easy to hitch and unhitch. Once you hitch it up and the slide bar locks in the down postion you cannot open it unless you turn the handle up.

I had the RBK lil rocker for about 5 yrs and it performed quite well under different ,unusual strains.
My 03 came with a reese already in it so I sold off the RBK, otherwise I would still use it.

On the contrary, I think it is VERY secure. I chose the RBW because it is simple and foolproof. Once that bar slams shut behind the pin there is no way short of a catastrophic structural failure that the trailer can come unhitched. And if you paint a little white line on the bar you can easily see that the pin is secure ('course, I always give it a little tug before raising the landing gear to make sure).
