I dont even have commercial tags. That IRP and your not over 26,000 pounds. As for something happening, officer can be a xxxxx and make you show proof of ownership or of sorts.
But odds of that happening are slim to none. I dont know how you plan on transporting them but if it looks like a personel tow, u wont get hassled. If it looks commercial with no numbers showing, you might get messed with. Either way, hopefully the prices I gave you look a little helpfull. For the way your doing, i dont know how you get biz but try uship for haul back

I'll bet 5 to 1 Georgia nails him . I don't think 3 jetskis and 2 trailers on a trailer will look like a personal load to them . Duallies with trailers are prime targets for them . Then it's fine for no log book , no medical card . Have reflective triangles and a mounted fire extniguisher ? DOT inspection on the truck and trailer ? Inadequate insurance ? The real dumb one is the shipper trying to go cheap . The load will stay at the scale until a hauler with proper authority shows up .
Haha, Wouldnt that suck. Reminds me Rick, i need to get my truck inpsected along with my trailer, i have never done that. Im awaiting my safty audit but still havent got the call. I was told they do free inspection of truck and trailer. I heard a dot stations they charge a butt load per vehilce.
Maybe if it every got brought up, they wouldnt bother and fine me cause my crap is new!!!??? P.S. I even carry a copy of driving record past 3 years with me

So...that's five Jet Skis and two double Jet Ski trailers....and all for "personal use".....imagine the DOT LOE sitting in his cruiser and seeing you go by....looks like a commercial enterprise....unless your truck has five brothers in it, or you have four wives and they travel with you.....and if they ask for proof of ownership on the 5 plus the 2 trailers you better produce it.....otherwise...GOTCHA !
With the cost of fuel what it is, northeast tolls, oil & maint., insurance, wear & tear, and maybe a dead-head run back, plus the risk of a citation, and the value of your time...price it accordingly.

so what ur sayin is that anytime i even haul/trailer anything of my own i need the title/reg for everything on the trailer?!?...i personally own 4 jetskis,5 trailers,2 quads, 3 three wheelers, 2 mustang drag cars and a johndeere..what if i was moving all the stuff at once, i would need to bring a breifcase of paperwork

yeah i guess i feel lucky..i dont understand what the big issue is all of a sudden with that..up north here the DOT is starting to pull over reg trucks/trailers for other things ...i guess ive been lucky so far
My issue is being able to prove that I'm not commercial...so it's got to be my stuff on my trailer, right ? And not my stuff that I'm taking to a flea market to sell, or to some show to sell, etc., cause that's a "business enterprise".
With all the chatter about illegal aliens in this country and they are "not paying taxes" and "not paying their fair share"....all of which is true, people who engage in commercial enterprises without paying THEIR due in terms of fees, permits, insurance, tags, etc....all of the legit costs of engaging in a legit business (and thus more honestly competing with those guys trying to make a living who do) aren't just "beating the system"...they are beating the honest guy trying to make a living....I don't see much difference between them and the issue of illegal aliens - result is the same, honest guys are being undercut. I don't make a living on the road anymore, and I don't compete with those that do. Abiding by a law is always a personal choice, and I don't mean to preach to anyone - so no one take offense.
As RickG and others point out, enforcement is being stepped up all over the place, so being prepared with paperwork, having your equipment in good order, your license, insurance and tags in order just seems to be time well spent, to me. I don't like sitting along a roadside while life passes by, when I could have avoided it. I have seen good documentation go a long way in defusing a potential situation - doesn't work all the time, but I err on the side of being cautious.....old age I guess
