Thumbs up Pure Cummins Toorrqquuee!!!!

Today, I started landscaping behind a house with a steep backyard and ordered a tandem load of screened topsoil. The dump truck arrived and backed down in the back yard. He dumped about half and stopped because of the steep angle. He tried to pull out and got stuck!!

I thought I would hook up and give it try. 4 lo and stomped it!!! Man did the black smoke boil from the Dodge and the Peterbilt!!! I made 3-4" ruts with each tire all the way to the top and over to flat ground. When we stopped, the truck driver jumped out and said, "That pull should make a Dodge commercial." We both laughed.

I thought I was Bad to the Bone

New rule:

No one is allowed to pull anything other than a trailer without first making sure the camcorder has a full charge and an empty tape.

At least some still pictures at various times during the pull.

That would have made one heck of an addition to the DTR mini movie.

Life's so cool at "Wide Open Throttle"

I should have charged the homeowners for the bug extermination when the thrusted fog of black smoke engulfed the backyard.

Yeah. That explains why the earth shifted it's axis south for 30 or 40 seconds yesterday.

Wish you could go back in time?

Coordinate everyone to point their trucks west and floor it at exactly the same time.
30 seconds WOT should get you an hour or two to do something over again.

Many years ago my Dad got our 2WD GMC w/ 305 V6 towing 23' boat stuck (no traction) in the mud. We proceeded to pull them out in tandem with our little 9 hp tractor. Only 9 hp, but geared down to something on the order of 250:1 (transmission + rear Diff + more at the wheels) with agricultural tires. It was quite amazing watching David pull Goliath.

Not exactly a Dodge commercial, but I thought it was noteworthy. Tractor was "economy" brand that came as kits.
