Oh yea, I get to be the first to prey on this one.

Whats a CumminGs?

Your Cummins will have no problems pulling it, but your truck must be properly equipped with the correct hitch and a dual rear wheel is in my opinion a must for that trailer.

Should pull it like a champ!

All 3rd gen Dodge Cummins powered trucks have the same Gross Combined Weight Ratings (truck and trailer combined).......which is 21,000lbs for 3.73 gears and 23,000lbs for 4.10s. The trucks will pull much more, but that is the legal ratings.

Since your truck is a 2500 (i looked at your profile since you don't have it in your signature) your Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is 9000lbs. Keep that in mind for figuring how much your truck weight and trailer pin weight is at. In your case you should be fine with a 30 footer, but it may exceed your rear axle weight ratings a little bit..........the limiting factor being your rear tires.

Good luck.........Hope that helps.

i am running a 2001.5 ctd with 3:54 gears srw. i run load range e tires. i am pulling a 34' coachman travel trailer with 12 glide out room and 6'10" ceiling. the registration claims the trailer weight at 7871# so loaded i am figuring 10,000# max. the truck pulls the unit ok. if i towed it more often i would like to have 4:10 gears.

with this rig am i within legal specs?

oh yeah! when i bought the t/t the dealer setup my 1500 gmc with the weight dist hitch and sent me on my way. it didnt take me very many miles to know i was way over my towing specs. anything to make a sale.

Hook on to it and pull it. You have the same axels as a 3500 truck (AAM 11 1/2). The only difference is no overload springs. Get some airbags and go.

I pull a 30' TT with my 04. Not a problem at all. Like stated above, get a good WD hitch with sway bars. CAUTION> People will wonder why your smiling sooooooo much! (pic in gallery)

Well if I had to do it all again (just bought new in October 05) I would go with the Reese Dual Cam Sway Control and weight dist system. Several places to get those at a good price. I currently have a Slider type of sway control and it works good but is a pain to get aout and take it off when I am not pulling straight.

I pull a 38' bumper pull with a 12' slide. I pull with a 1/2 ton suburban with a Cummins. No problems. I use the weight distribution bars and the anti-sway bars from Reese. My stock 5.7 Litre would not have pulled the camper but with the Cummins in, it is no problem.

Don't know much about tt's but I pull a 20' gooseneck dump trailer that was built up to hold 35 cubic yards at one point and I've had that thing loaded with the emplty trailer weight of 8,000 lbs plus lots of timber propably around 28,000 lbs total and ran that cummins hard and fast in new orleans. I am very impressed with the 06 dodge 3500 i have. The suspension and the motor didn't even start to squirm. 373 gears. Gooseneck hitch rated at 25,000 lbs. was my only worry.

Depends on how much tongue weight you have, you may want to consider air bags. I have them for my 26 ft toy hauler which is very heavy up frunt when I have the 150 gals of water and the 60 gal of gas and two quads. I paid about $640.00 installed and have the onboard pump and presure guage mounted inside. I can raise the rear 3" at 80 lbs and it takes all the bounce out if it. Tows great! I am going to pull from Mesa, Arizona to West Point , New York and back next summer. I cruise at 70 MPG all day on the interstate with no problems.
