I figured that might be a favourite pic for some. Only thing better than having the toys is friends with toys all the fun none of the headaches.

What model Ollie is that on your trailer? Looks like maybe a 1750 or an 1850? I have a 1955. It is in my gallery hooked to a 15' brush hog.

Ya the 1955 has the ol 310 waukesha engine. Not near as loud as the Detroit, and I'm glad too as we put a lot of hours on this tractor still and my hearing would be shot if it had a Detroit! I have a 4" straight pipe on it and it'll talk to ya pretty good though! It is a monster, not many of em around anymore. I mainly run it on the disc mower, round baler and the 15' brush hog, and some occasional discing.

They're a little too big for most people, but they're real good tractors. A 1650-1750-1850 is worth a lot more than those bigger tractors. Too bad too, they're a lot of fun to have around!

I'd like to have a 1655. It'd fit right in the middle of my other tractors. There are some people converting these old Ollie's over to 5.9 Cummins. That'd be real neat. I may do that to the 1955 one day whn I have way more time and some more money too. Here is a site of a guy who has done several Ollie's with 5.9's................................

I think I will buy another new Kubota in the next couple years. Probably a cab, 70-80 hp. Then I can tear apart the Ollie for a conversion?

I've seen an 1855 with a 185hp 5.9L in it...we put 3 PTO clutches in it and still couldn't make them last over 2 hours. The guy went to Cummins and custome ordered this engine for this tractor...185hp at 3300RPM. He was turning it too hard for the rest of the tractor We were only working on the PTO problems, which he said had nothing to do with the engine All said and done, we lost $800 in parts he wouldn't pay us for, an 25 hours of labor

I would say go for a 5.9L, but stay reasonable on what you want the tractor to do...but I'm sure you already figured that one out

If I do it, I'll get an industrial engine set around 100-130 hp. I just overhauled the pto in that tractor myself. Those tractors were not designed to turn 185hp. Mine with the 310 that is in it now will put down 130pto hp on the dyno. That is the max I'd want to push one of these.

I don't have a pic, but I pulled a pretty good load last weekend with my truck. I pulled a 50ft flatbed gooseneck with tandem duals loaded down with two pallets of shingles, a load of lumber that weighed around 17k, and a big 6 person hot tub. My truck weighs around 7k so I'd say that my GCVW was around 40k. I pulled it from West Plains, MO to St. James, MO.
