Here's a before and after of our '78 Glastron Carlson that we rebuilt @ 8 years ago. It pretty much looks the same and still turns heads everywhere we go. Nothing like having a classic boat.

Excellant Thread!. I was thinking it was time to get "Spare Parts II" out of the barn, but we had some flurries today.
SPII= 1985 23' Wellcraft Nova (Scarab hull)

4cyl Supercharged/Turbo & Aftercooled Diesel (Slightly tweaked VP 44 & Injectors) coupled to a (raised X dimension) Duo-Prop with SS props. (SS for secret squirrel). ( Honest-It all followed me home from work)

Except for exterior gel-complete rebuild in 04. All new interior, stringers, transom (2nd pic in R&D shop-see new plywood ready for template), F tank, wiring, & upholstery.
New dash panel, gauges (incl boost), controls, & acc panel. Everything better than ABYC (Yes I am certified).
I am not saying I am faster than anyone- but I sure do like to brag about my GPH!!

Wink We are lucky to retire to this:

93 Larson Cabrio 300 (30 footer) love the interior layout; new ones are not as nice. oh, twin 350 volvo penta, makes it hussle across Lake Ontario at 42 mph....own property on the Saint Lawrence seaway river....

we watch the big ships change channel at slow, quiet buggers they are...
Gosh, can't wait- we scuba dive!! i'll take ya fishing if ya wax the boat..

See my boat in "my photos". It is a 25 foot workboat with a 200HP turbocharged Volvo diesel driving twin counter-rotating props on a single outdrive. I use it exclusively on the Chesapeake Bay for fishing & cruising. Heated cabin, Radar, GPS, plotter, depth, remote powered spotlight. Cruises easily at 35MPH. Top speed 40MPH. 1500 mile range on a tank of fuel.

Only 87MPH?? Hehehe... Yeah those are nice...
Step-brother used to test for Fountain on Lake Mead... I used to envy him until they crashed on the rocks going 130MPH.... 2 survivors out of 8 crew...
Bad news when you mix high speed and communication failure... and then throw in some steering linkage failure on top of that... He is better now and in the restaurant business.....
