Dont forget though that not everyone is has the money or space under the trailer to go with 16" rims so ST's are the only option. As I probably already mentioned, a TPMS is the way to go in my book. Not a solution to ST tires falling apart.....but at least you'll know its going to happen before hand and stop before anything is damaged.

That was exactly my situation - there is no room on my trailer for 16" rims / tires. However, with the Goodyear Cargo tire, even us 15" rim people can have some solid truck tires. I think their max load is about 2400 lbs each, so they'll handle a pretty hefty trailer too.
At the rate I was going through ST tires, by now I would have spent more money replacing them than the extra cost for the good truck tires.

I guess I just find it odd that some people have so many problems with ST tires. I have a few trailers with ST tires. One of those trailers had the same tires on it for around 10 years or better. The only reason I use a TPMS on my 5th wheel is because of the extensive damage a blown tire can do to an RV trailer.
