seeing all the beautiful campers makes me awfully excited to buy one in about 8 months. (traveling working on Wind Turbines)

I want to buy a 40' or so toy hauler to live in 48 weeks a year.

So, I'm sure I posted in the original thread with my 95 3500 ctd dually. I blew my 2nd gear syncro and didn't feel it to be worth rebuilding a trans in a 14yr old truck knowing if i got into an accident there was a good chance it'd be totaled. So, I sold the truck and picked up my 02 Ford F-250. It was lifted 4in on 35s and towing my Wrangler through the Colorado mountains I could only muster 50mph and saw 11mpg at the best and as low as 9mpg. I started to miss my CTD motor and did a random search in the area and found my new truck. An 06 2500 CTD crew cab short bed 4x4 Laramie. It was a total whim and luckily I signed my loan only an hour before another guy came in with 25k cash to buy it for his business. I win!

This truck is hands down a top notch truck. I loved my ford but the milage sucked. So I'm back in a dodge and much happier. I can't wait to haul to Moab again in May to see how much of an improvement I made in trucks, despite the increased payment

Here's a badly edited photo with my also new to me trailer which i downgraded to, to haul my jeep.

From all I´ve heard the 2006 RAM´s are the way to go. Everything sorted out and no emission bs. I bet you´ll be very happy with that truck.

I am certainly happy with my '06! Everytime I tow, the better it gets! More weight, the better! Can't say enough good about the '06.

How do you like the 4th gen for towing your RV? Do you like the new mirror set-up?

I really like the new mirrors, I couldn't stand the mirrors on my 04. This is my 1st DRW but it pulled really good. I didn't pull any real steep grades but it had a lot more power than my 04. Exhaust brake is a huge plus allowing me to stay off the brakes, and the trans works perfect. approaching a stop you would think it was a manual transmission, between the exhaust brake and auto down shifting. the only problems I have had is the trailer light problem tipm module and I ordered the modulite to fix this, and it popped a rear center cap along the way
