Picked up our new 5er also.

Holiday Rambler Presidential 32 RKD (Rear Kitchen 2 slides)

We just picked up the trailer this weekend. The trailer dry weight as posted is 11,100. I have not taken it to the scales to get real weights, but the truck only lowered about 2 inches with the trailer hitched.

We picked it up in Tucson and drove home over the I8 grade which has a long steady climb. The trailer towed like a dream. On the flat parts of I8 going through Arizona I had to work at keeping my speeds below 75. I kept it in overdrive the entire time and only had to shift out of over drive about 3 times. I went with the 3.73 rear end and do not regret it, the truck takes off with the trailer attached without any problems.

We like this trailer a lot and had to special order it. Every one seems to be stocking the 32 footer with the Quad slides. This unit has much more storage space, and the entire layout makes a lot of sense.

Close call with fuel, I was watching average MPG, not DTE and when the low fuel ding went off, we had 24 miles according to the DTE computer. Took us about 28 miles to reach the next fuel stop and I put in 33.8 gallons. (34 gallon tank) My 2002 would ding with about 8 gallons left, looks like this truck dings with 3 gallons left.

How do all you California guys rate with all these new RV's while the rest of us have to get along with our old ones?

You guys sure have lots of wonderful places to go real close by. I have to drive 3000 miles to get to them. We have some nice ones too, but they are all quite similar - - flat.

Enjoy that new baby. I will think of you on my next dive in our nice warm waters.

You guys are killing me...
New campers, diving...it was almost 80 here on saturday, going to be in the low 20's tonight. I already had my speedo and flips out...

Anyway, congrats on the new camper. I have a buddy that lives out there. He took us diving on the one trip we made to see him. Hope to be getting back out there summer of 05. Can't wait to dive again. It was really amazing

Congrats on the new 5VR
Sounds like you've got a sweet setup and a sweet 5VR. I hope you have many many mles of carefree camping. Keep us posted on the weight after you take a minute to stop by a scale and get her weighed. I'm curious what you are really carrying
Mine weighs in at about 10k when loaded.
