PacBrake for 05 CTD Auto?
PacBrake for 05 CTD Auto?
I know this has been discussed some before, but there doesn't seem to be a BEST option for an exhaust brake for the 05 with automatic. Live and learn, I guess. I know PacBrake makes a fixed one for my vehicle. Would this be a good choice? Need to get it done soon as travel season is just around the corner.
Was quoted about $1500 installed for their second best unit (the latest has constant braking not dependent on engine speed). If I did it myself, about $900.

Been check'n it out myself. Called Pacbrake about the new PRXB. I thought that was what they offered for the 05 model. They told me the EMC bypass they developed was the most important part for the 05. The PRXB would not work, too hard on the tranny but the standard exhaust brake pt.# c20406 w/ ECM bypass would. He said to try it w/out the ATS Co-Pilot first & if I thought I needed more torque converter locking add it later. $900.00 sounds right. I came up with about $835.00 but that was with my own air supply. Keep us posted if you put one on your truck. I'm about a year before I get to it.
