These Trailers (Timberline XL) seem to be well made and I really like the wood burner for cold weather camping.Just wondering if anyone looked at these and put hands on them?

 

I wouldn't want want. Whoever is their exterior designer needs to change jobs. They do seem to all include a remote mounted broom. Never seen that feature in an rv before. Then again, I've never seen an rv like these before either.

 

Wow, I really like those! They're kinda like me; simple yet functional!

 

I could see myself in one of those. Kinda looks like a barn on wheels, but people have said that about my truck without a trailer behind it! If you are going into remote locations it looks pretty slick.

 

Boy, once you stoke the fire in that iron wood burner it better stay cold outside. I'm guessing that little space becomes a sauna you cant turn down too fast....
Also wonder about sparks on the roof....
Would it be impacted by fire bans?

I did a little looking and found a couple of slide shows on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC2VWJqON1Y I read somewhere that it was -44 while when they took these picture. I think I will contact these guys in the next couple of days and see what I can find out.

 

There kind of fugly on the outside but not too bad inside, the only thing you have to check is the insurance with a wood heater, anything with wood heaters seem to crank the insurance way up, especially houses now a days.

 

I agree with the outside is ugly comments however it looks like they subscribe to the KISS engineering book.. I can't see it but I'm assuming that the stove has an outside air inlet.

I am about to start the build on my toy hauler it is going to have hydronic heat, the same folks that build engine heaters for our trucks (Espar) does some nice setups for motor homes.
I will have an outside set of couplers that would allow a heat exchanger to be put over the fire pit or built into a small portable wood stove.

 

They're not 'fugly', they're functionally simple! Utilitarian. Practical. They have regard to utility and usefulness rather than beauty and ornamentation.

Glad I wasn't the only one that saw that.

It's definately KISS principle, but for the price I can't see it. If I were going to spend that kind of money I'd get the Gulfstream, as it's clearly based off that design.
