new motor

i just picked mine up in tucson after having a new motor put in. on my way back to Mi i found that removing the edge dropped my egt's drastically (300 degrees)
was towing a 53' 3 axle gooseneck with my 01 1500 gasser on it.
stayed at 65 mph
10 lbs fuel pressure
800-1000 degree egt's on the level
up to 1250 degrees on long uphill grades ( 1500 with edge)
18 pounds torque uphill grades
8-10 mpg

I think he was hauling the 1500 gasser on the trailor, heading back cross country.

Any qualms about break-in before towing the load?

actually, i picked up the deisel in Tucson and drove it to northern california with a 16' trailer and horse buggy and back to Tucson for the break in , then hooked up the gooseneck and loaded the 1500 onto the trailer for the return trip to Michigan @ 55-65 mph.

OK. Sounds good to me. Maybe the tight new motor was contributing to the temps? I have heard of temps up from the EZ box.

Temps sound normal to me with the EZ.... My EGT temps didn't drop drastically until I turnbuckled the wastegate. Jamming 32 psi max instead of 20 psi max through the engine made all the difference in the world.
