Need a crawler loader moved

A friend of mine needs a John Deere 2010 crawler loader with back hoe moved from Upper Falls, Maryland to Windsor, Virginia some time soon. Should weigh about 20,000 pounds. There are no loading docks available at either end so it should be loaded on a low boy or something with ramps.

If interested in helping this person out, contact Chip at 4750@visi.net. He will give you his phone number and any other info you may need.

You should be able to haul it on a gooseneck, as long as it has the 10k pound axles. My dad hauls a Case 850B dozer with his 96 3500 without any trouble. The truck can easily handle it, as long as you have good trailer brakes and take your time.

Re:Need a crawler loader moved

I only have the two 7000 pound axles with single tires. If I had the dual tandems, I would do it in a minute for him. I have had 13000 up on there and it handled that real well but I was way over my 20000 pound liscense. Virginia DMV won't let me liscense the truck for over what the manufacturers GCVW is. The guy I bought the trailer from in North Carolina said anything I can't haul on that trailer don't need to be pulled with that little truck. I know the truck would do it but I don't want to take a chance on trashing my trailer, the guys equipment, and possibly hurting someone else. I could not live with that so I left it to the pro's. I had an International 684 diesel tractor with front end loader and bush hog on there from Pa to Md. The truck was fine but the trailer tires didn't like it much. Could smell them once I got on the interstate. Didn't realize how heavy that machine was. Didn't have any problems though, got it from one end to the other just fine.

I can't be of much help there, my trailer's got a 12K gross. I do know a guy in Richmond who moves heavy equipment for a living, Lowboy or Landoll. Let me know if you want his number.

Chris
