Saw this when I was in Hood River OR a few weeks back. Guy had this built in Florida and drove it all the way out to Oregon.

 

Now that's really cute. Suppose the Mini comes with a 2-3 cyl diesel?

Stuff a 4 cylinder out of an old VW into it , mechanical injection, etc , you can get normal non transverse mount transmissions for them.

The original fitted engines in the pickups from the 60's were4 cyl. 850 cc's. A whopping 40 hp! Later on they installed 998 cc motors, big improvement!

This one has a displacement of about 1300 cc's, heavily modified. Probably putting out around 75 to 80 HP. The key to this rig is the trailer is all aluminum, but he did have to tow another Mini that had broke down.

The newer MINIS in England have 4 cyl. Toyota Diesels. I would like to find one of these pickups and fit a small 4 cyl. Diesel into it.
