Maine/Mass Campgrounds

Can anyone recommend a campground in the Maine/Massachusets area. Looking to go up for about a week in the begining of July. We have 2 children so something that will keep a 6 and 7 year old happy.

Thanks
John

I live up here in Maine, are you looking for something on the ocean or something more inland? Do you want full Hookups? There are a bunch of great camping spots up here

Something near the ocean with full hookups would be great.

We go regularly to Wells , Maine and like the Sea-Vu campground on route 1 in Wells. Water view , play area for kids, pool , near town.
There are a number of campgrounds in the area , check a Trailer Life Directory , it's the "bible".

Horseneck State Park (508 ) 636-8816 near Westport , MA has a 100 site campground right on the beach . Reservations can be made through reserveamerica.com . When we stayed in that area we stayed at Westport Campgrounds . (508) 636-2555 . That gave us a shady area out of the sun and it's only a 10 minute drive to the beach . If you go to that area , nearby Demerest Lloyd State Park has a much better beach for kids . At low tide they can walk out half a mile and water isn't even knee deep .

My wife and I stayed at the Bar Harbor KOA, free shuttlebuses around the island, bike trails, whale watches, good food.

Saw something on the travel channel a month ago about CG's in Maine/Mass, the park in the topic looked really nice. Sorry, but I can't seem to remember it's name. Go to the travel channel web site, I'm sure you will be able to find something.

BTW, I dont know about over there but here CG's fill up really quick. I waited until the last minute for Memorial day weekend and all but found nothing available in the entire state of Washington and Oregon except for those 1st come 1st serve places that I was not going to attempt. I made my reservations almost 6 mos ago for the 4th and all the the CG' were just about full.
Good luck
