Louvered Tailgate on 2003 CTD Truck

I am looking for one of those louvered tailgates to go on the back of my 2003 CTD. I am interested in one of those black plastic models to help with wind turbulance on my 5th wheel.

Camperworld near here says they don't make one for the 2003 and newer, only the older trucks. I have seen them on other 2003 and newer trucks going down the road.

Anyone out there point me to a place to purchase such a tail gate?

Thanks in advance!

Do a net search on Handy tailgates. They are steel and very well made. I got mine from www.aztrucks.com and they run around 240.00 and they are paintable.

CustomFlow is also another manufacturer. They are the high-end compared to Handy (which is what I have, it works fine). Here is the Camping World link that shows them for 03-04 Dodge at around $335.

Stromberg Carlson has just finished making the tailgate for the new gen. trucks. Started shipping them last week. The part # is VGD-02-2000 it is a No-Rust molded black plastic Lovered Tailgate.

I think this is what you are looking for. Cost is around $240

I wouldn't buy the Econo-gate from Handy, but the louvered ones are nice and well constructed. Worked there 6 or 7 years ago for a spell. All welded galvanized steel, only draw back in they use the individual pins for each side rather than a handle in the middle for a latch. Don't like the econo model on account of all the sharp edges, used to cost me about a pint of blood a night when we ran them on the powder coating line.

The Handy louvered tailgates are available with a center handle that operates both latches on the ends.
