Just a heads up.

There is no such thing as an air brake endorsement on a CDL, in the states.

Therefore air brakes do NOT require a CDL.

In Texas, the standard test associated with getting a CDL involve an Air-brake test.

If you choose not to take the test, or choose not to pass the test you WILL get a restriction for NO AIR BRAKES...

That is the way it is in every state. It's the federal standard.

Its a play on words. He is correct its not an endorsement. If you test without its a restriction on a cdl.

This same "game" was started on another Cummins forum too.

What do you base such a comment on?

All classes of CDL are the same when it comes to air brakes.

All three A, B, and C can be had with or without an air brake restriction.

The classes depend on the type of vehicle being driven.

Class A = >26,000 lbs; truck and trailer (ie. semi truck)

Class B = >26,000 lbs rating and no trailer (ie. unibody dump truck )

if you have a dump truck (chevy 8500 for example ) and you are pulling a trailer, you need to have a class A.

That is basically it. Only difference is that the trailer needs to be over 10k GVWR to make it a class A and that you can tow up to 10k with a class B vehicle and a class B license.

And a dime says I know who will shut it down. Spudder, I've got better things to do than follow you around while you play these silly games. If you want to continue them, this is not the place.
