Question Inverters

I just ordered a inverter it will be here Tuesday. Can I make a suicide cable to plug into the inverter and a outlet to back feed and fire up the whole 5th wheel? And will I need to do anything to the converter to isolate it?

What size inverter?
How many batteries in the trailer?
Define "fire up the whole 5th wheel".

1220 watt
4 6volt
If I jumper from the inverter to a out let in the 5th wheel it should back feed 110 to the whole trailer correct just like back feeding a house with a gen.All I want to do is be able to use any outlet in the 5th wheel, If I plug the inverter into a single out let i should be able to use any other out let in the trailer. I am not trying to power everything at once just an out let here and there so I don't have to run extention cords everywhere.

I don't see why it wouldn't, but wouldn't it be pulling all the amperage for the entire trailer though the breaker for the outlet you're plugged into?

wouldn't it be the same as going the other way with the amperage I'm only going to run one thing at a time I don't have enought battery to run multipul things at once. also I will have to unplug it when connecting to 110 so not to dammage the inverter by back feeding into the inverter with 110volts.

There is a few issues here , most anything RV house , has multiple circuits , only the ones connected will lite , generally you should go with standard wiring rules , then you will be less likely to have problems down the road .
More info on the inverter , does it have hard wire connections ?
Some as they get larger have battery chargers , so if you plug trailer in to shore power it will charge the batteries .

No hard wire out connections. This is what I got Vector VEC053D 1200 watt inverter. Google it and you'll see what I got.

The thing I was concerned about was if you were trying to run more than one thing.

It may work to a degree but you need to identify all of the items that are normally connected to the AC side, ie: refrigerator, alarms, lights, clocks, etc. Some items are on automatically as soon as AC is applied. 1200w is not a lot and will not run the AC, coffee maker or microwave for example. Some electronic equipment doesn't like square wave input power.

A real simple answer to your question is NO. Too many variables. For one, you will be using battery voltage to power the inverter, which will then power the converter, which is trying to charge the batteries you are using - - uh uh. NO NO. 1200 is not all that big of an inverter and I can guarantee you will exceed it and cause problems doing what you are suggesting.

Drop me a pm giving me your email address and I will kick you out a whole write with pictures up I did for another website on a typical inverter installation.

Well OK then it looks like extention cords, I just need to power a few real small things not more than 200 watts. I thought it would be esater to just use a double male plug so I wouldn't need to run extention cords and give me a cleaner mounting of the inverter. So I will just use the outlets on the inverter for those items I need to run. Thank you all and I'll send a PM to ya Bob.
