Are you trying to get someone else to haul a boat for you cross-country using a non-roadworthy trailer? What am I missing here?

Sounds like you need a 40' gooseneck to load it on, if the trailer deck height is less than 3' you should be legal on most primary roads and interstates, but you may have to have permits in some states for the overhang widths. May find a hotshot to pull it but sounds expensive? May be cheaper to find a good trailer and pull it yourself, be more fun anyway.....

Tires and brakes. Other than that it's probably better than whatever trailer it would be hauled on. No, I'm not expecting someone to haul it 3000 miles as is.

Tires would be relatively easy to replace as any tireshop nearby can do that. Brakes is another matter that would require trailer specific parts and labor. That's difficult at best to coordinate from here in CA.

Yes...deck height would have to be 3' or less.

I just don't have the time for a roundtrip.

03 - I THINK I have it handled. Should be getting 6 tires and bearings gone through within the week...then getting towed out by fellow DTR member.

bulldawg...gee...I coulda made it to SD easy enough.

mikmaze....ya...Coyote has water in it. Back when we were in highschool some 20+ years ago, they drained it to work on the dam. Mudhole at the dam end had 20# carp in 1' of water. We were grabbing them and tossing them onto the bank so the "less fortunate" could take them home to eat.

Got stuck 4 wheeling in the creek that feeds it once about the same era. Spent the afternoon at the bar ("The Drift Inn) waiting for folks to get home to come rescue us. We were underage so no drinking...played a lot of liars dice that day.

Funniest one was: we took a bunch of albacore tuna up to their cleaning station on a closed day, a couple years ago. I'm sure the carcass's raised quite a stir. I can see them now digging through their tacklebox to find something to catch them "big fish" on...lol

Thanks for the responses guys. If something doesn't click, I'll be in touch. If any of ya need something from CA (ya right), let me know. Or if you're out here during ocean fishing season, we can wet a line.
