How hard to install pullrite 18K

Just got delivery of my 18K pullrite superglide. Never had much of a chance to take a good look at it. How hard are they to install? What do you need to watch out for, or should i just get someone to do it? Thganks.

Very simple to install. Just read the direction a few times before starting.
It's a piece -O-cake. Just take your time. Here's a pic of my son cleaning up the holes with a dremel after hole sawing the 2" holes.
I've installed Pullrite hitch's in 2 trucks now, both with the same rail setup.
Good luck.

The biggest thing I can say is keep most of the nuts loose and then install the rails and the hitch over the rails before you do all the final torking. You need a little play to get things lined up. If you tighten every thing first it's a pain to get the rails/hitch/pins to fit right.
So, no biggy.
Go for it yourself. Unless you got $200-$500 bucks to blow for sombody else to do it.
It really is easy, go for it.

Just adding another vote to go for it. My wife and I installed ours and it was no problem...We barely even argued!!

I sure wish superglide made the pins where the hitch rails sit about an incher higher for better rail clearance. I have about 6 1/2 and would like 7 1/2 bed rail clearance ( the pin box is already adjusted all the way). Any suggestions . Has anyone purchased the adapter that lets a regular hitch connect ot the superglide plate in case of emergency tows?

I had a machinist friend look at the pins for carrying the hitch and he said it wouldn't be a big deal at all to turn some down and spot weld a few washers on them, one at the stop and one for the hitch height. I was almost ready to have him make some and I sold the hitch. Sure it mite void the warrenty but I didn't care, I doubt a 1" to a 1-1/2" would make a difference.

Pullrite does offer longer mounting pins for clearing plastic bed liners and such.

Perhaps give them a call to find out how much longer the pins are and how much?
