I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket tie rod. You could contact Don Thuren and see if he knows of any. He does make a crossover steering setup so maybe he could make you some. Good luck!

Seems prices have increased on the track bar. I shouldn't have waited.

Are these the same issues with the 4x4 front ends that everyone seems to be having? Or did I read that wrong?
Sometimes it makes me happy that my 4x4 is a buggy and I'm my own warranty station on that one.

You should be able to make one using either i inch or one and a half inch heim joints, alot of offroad racers do it why couldn't you, not sure if it would pass an inspection though, just my .02!

The only issues with using Heims on the road can be the noise as they clank a little bit (negated by the Diesel) and...
You have to drill out the knuckle to accept the straigh bolt, or spend bucks on special bolts to fit the taper
They normally don't last as long as normal tie rod ends

What is it that is causing the TRE's die so fast is my question. Is it just an undersized component or are there odd stresses being put on it?

I can get you any Heim you want, as GM of a shop that specializes in off-road vehicles (we race in the XRRA and W.E. ROCK series).

How much is it to rebuild a heim? Is it cheaper to rebuild a heim twice or replace a tie rod once?

what are the symptoms of the TRE dying? I have noticed that my truck will "groove" or pull quickly back and forth over varying road terrain lately..
