Help on exhaust brake

Ordered a Pack Brake PRXB kit with compressor today. I have a 2003 3500 with the 48re. The help I need is I got the model for a standard tranny, since I have the mystery switch so I can manually lock up tc when needed didn't see why I needed the control box. Has anybody done this before and could you help walk me through this or is there someting that would pervent this from working.

You should give the folks at Pac a call to discuss to be sure.
I have the control box on my 03 3500 48re. The box senses lockup and enables the brake, when you lift the throttle if the system is enabled the brake activates and holds until you drop below a preset speed of about 50kph. Nice thing about the system is it does the thinking for you, as a result, alot of folks use it fulltime. You really get used to it quickly, I find it hard not to drive with it on.
I suspect in your case what will happen is you will have to remember to turn on the lock up to have it hold beyond where the auto trans would otherwise shift down. Might become a bit of a pain, particularly if you are in a situation that calls for emergency braking. I think it will work, but you have made it a manual process rather than using the automatic feature of the brake.
Then again, I dont have the mystery switch so I am only speculating based on how mine works with the controller.
