If you have farm plates they should leave you alone with the weight issue. My dad has hauled lots of heavy loads with farm plates and he hasn't had any issues at all. I think the biggest he ever hauled was grossing around 40k on a relatively short trip with his old 99 CTD dually, but he had several in the 28-30k range from central Arkansas to NE Texas

Do it. I pulled a bigger load 3500 miles with my old 3/4 ton through all different types of terrain. I never went over 50 mph.

I don't have a c.d.l. I appreciate everyone's input just knowing that bigger loads have been pulled with a 3/4 ton makes me feel a little better about the mechanical side

That being the case I would seriously recommend you at least have farm plates on the trailer. If you don't you will fall under commercial with that much weight and it could get costly if you get stopped.

i used to haul a new holland 2550 self propelled swather with my chevy k3500. i never had any problems but it was all county roads and if i went over 20 it would get a little crazy. not to mention the header was always on it. just go slow and youll be fine
