well, as luck would have it, I still haven't left. My pipe showed up 2 weeks late, I just got my product back from the galvanizer today, and my screens from Chicago won't be in until Thursday. So, Hopefully Monday or Tuesday I will be down/and or heading down. But, I have found out in the 2 runs to Utah to get my parts delivered & brought back, my trans is over heating. I had it flushed and new filter installed, and it is still getting warm. I spiked to 250* on one hill. I have the deep pan, so I'm assuming my cooler must have an issue. Thinking I'll order the BD Xtrude kit, maybe even the double. I'm going to call my vendor tomorrow and see what they carry. Maybe there is a better suggestion out there.

Where's your temp sensor? Lots of debate on this, but in my opinion if the answer is "in the hot line" it's too sensitive. Short spikes of 250° aren't a worry. If it hits 250° in the pan, then that could be a problem.

I'd clean your trans cooler fins and see about a tune that maybe locks up the TC better/sooner.

Sensor is in the pan, i cleaned the valve in the top of the cooler, and the check valve under the battery box. Both were fine. So with no one having answers i headed to phoenix. Well, ive been stuck in Tooele, ut for 2 days now. Heres what happened. I called industrial injection because the trans was between 210 and 230 the whole way down mostly. They sent me to the shop that builds there transmissions, the owner hopped in my truck and before we went 2 blocks told me the torque converter was slipping. So i am waiting on warranty torque converter. But the good that came out of this is that the tranny shop guy took me for a ride in his 1000hp dually cummins. Very sweet.

Here is the latest update on my situation. Apparently the company that built my trans has at least 7 experimental input shafts in different transmissions. I ended up with one of them. So, That means I needed a special torque converter machined to fit the special shaft. After this was installed, the problem was still there- a slipping converter. when draining the fluid in the pan, I saw a drill bit shaving about 3/4 of an inch long which I'm assuming had been stuck in some part of the valve body....just my assumption. But now that it still wont work, it also turns out there put in the stock stator and gears..... so I have a trans they are telling me is 1000hp capable with a stock stator? but anyways I have been stuck here since Tuesday mid day, throwing away motel money, my employees back at home temporarily out of work until I'm back, and now trying to figure out if I'm going to get any warranty on my broken trans, and my customers in Arizona are getting a little irritated. Hopefully they have a pickup for lease around here or I am going to have to unload my 5500 and have some one run it down here to me so I can finish my delivery.

No kidding! That route is horrible, more so at night, and there isn't much cell phone reception through there to call for help.

Ya, I still might be sitting in Nevada! But, as luck would have it, Instead the DOT shut me down in Arizona. Been here all day. I was told the ports weren't open on the weekend so I brought the 5500 down, but apparently as the nice officer told me, they just barely started staying open on weekends! So, being over 26k, no cdl, log book. bla bla bla, I once again have my wife drivng 9 hrs down here bringing my dad who has a cdl so I can get the dang truck moving. I tried finding someone I could put my load on there trailer, but being the weekend, I'm S.O.L....Is there any more bad luck out there?

For anyone reading this thread having similar trans problems in the future, It turned out being that the company that built the trans didn't put the 2 seal rings on the input shaft. Almost 2 months later, finally got the thing fixed.
