Gooseneck without a goose?

Thanks for all the replys! I ended up buying a gooseneck hitch (hourglass) that fit my 5er rail mounts - hate to spend the $$, but it was available. Got trailer home no problem!

By the way, I don't think my original idea would have worked - the gooseneck on the trailer would not adjust low enough, i.e., front of trailer flatbed would have been on the ground - like charger 69 reported.

Mine already has the gooseneck ball in the bed so I plan to put the 5th wheel over the top of it. That way if I need to pull a gooseneck I just pull the pins on the 5th wheel hitch and lift it out of the way. In fact the entire hitch can be removed leaving only the cross rails still bolted to the bed.
