I just had a Hidden Hitch installed. The only hole, holes are for the ball and the rings for the safety chains. The release handle comes out on the drivers side under the fender. I haven't towed anything with it yet, but its real clean looking.

Several companies make a fifth wheel hitch that slides into rails permanently bolted to the truck bed, and they also have a gooseneck plate that will fit the same rails.

IMO go with torquefan's suggestion. I know I wish I would have.

The B&W are nice & clean...but they're not cheap...expect to pay over 1k for the turnover ball & 5er attachment. That's if you install it yourself....I did my neighboors' B&W on his FlowerJoke and it was an easy install.
Now on my truck I have a Reese 15K Pro. The rails are in the bed of the truck, but are only about an inch higher than the bed surface so loading anything in the bed when the hitch is out is not a problem. I bought and installed this myself for $400. They also sell a GN plate for less than $200 rated at 25K and #6,250 pin.
The do sell an underbed hidden GN hitch, but I don't know if you can hook a 5er to it.

Try running a search on iRV2.com or RV.net on "gooseneck adapter". Any number of individuals have torn up their 5th wheel frames using these devices. Some haven't. If you need confirmation, call your 5th wheel manufacturer and see if their structural warranty covers the use of a gooseneck adapter.

If you want to pull both a gooseneck and a 5th wheel, I would suggest the B&W turnoverball gooseneck hitch with their companion 5th wheel RV hitch. The B&W setup leaves a clean bed when neither hitch is in use. Alternately, go with the Reese-type hitch that can mount either a 5th wheel hitch or gooseneck plate/hitch to their rails.

I ran the B&W in my Ford and had the 5th wheel Companian for it. I couldn't use it in my Dodge because it did not have the slider option. I now have the Reese Signature Series 5th wheel with slider and a gooseneck plate that uses the same holes. Under bed mount with only 4 small holes through the bed.

Hey Moose, whoever quoted you that price for the B&W hitches was tryin to take you for a ride. I haven't ordered a companion 5th wheel for a few months but unless prices took off on me it is no where near a grand for the this setup. When people contact me looking for a hitch they think I'm kiddin when I tell them, either just buy the B&W now or wish you had later take your choice. For ease of install and use you can't beat them. The downfall for you folks with short beds wanting to pull RV's, you need a slider hitch and that is not available from this company.

first of all what kind of bed are you having built??? if it's a flatbed I'd just get about an inch thick piece of steel & bolt/weld it to the frame & mount the ball to it, then you could have the fab shop build some rails for the 5th wheel, I had a mainline flatbed that was customized to run both a gooseneck ball & 5th wheel, it worked out nice, it had the one door in the middle that opened/closed to house the gooseneck ball, & had two more doors beside the middle one that opened & had square tubing underneath as rails for the 5th wheel to hook up to, just a thought, wasn't sure what type bed you were going with, might be useless info., but then again might be useful??? , Dusty

I just bought the B&W gooseneck and companion 5th yesterday for $1024 + $50 shipped and that was the best price I could find anywhere on the net.
$325 + $50 for the turnover and $699 w/shipping for the fifth. Towshop.com

That's about what I paid for mine too. Still alot cheaper than the Reese Signature Series I have now.

I'm just a little cheaper on these hitches than your showing in your post. Like I said I haven't priced the 5th wheel companion in a while, but I know I am less than that on the Ball portion of this outfit.
