going rate for moving trailers?

just out of curiosity, what is the going rate for moving trailers from one place to another? I looked at an ad for a 5th wheel for sale and the guy said he would deliver it for $2/mi one way. is that pretty realistic?

How far is it being towed ? $400 for 200 miles is reasonable , $2,000 for 1,000 miles is not . If the person that owns it is the one delivering it his only expense is fuel . He doesn't have to spend the money on insurance legal carriers do . For that money though you're better off to pick it up yourself . You should inspect it before buying it anyway .

Had a quote from a big transporter firm (in Feb/09) that a 2100 mile flat-tow, from Texas to Cali would be at $1.25/loaded mile.
