I had a Honda 2000 stolen at Quartsite a couple of years ago and mine was tied to my fifth wheel jack with a 5/8ths Brinks snip proof cable (the Police officer said it was cut with a diamond wheel on a cordless dremel). That same night 6 other people in the same area also lost generators. I now have two Honda 2000s paralleled and locked in my truck box with individual covers that do not make it impossible to steal but it will require some time. By the way I took the cable back to where I bought it Princess Auto in Canada ( like Harbor Freight in the US.) and they replace it. (The cable not the Generator).

If I had a Honda 2000 I would simply bring it inside every time I am done with it, it is simply too small to not do that. It has a handle, come on!
Even with my 110 lbs Champion, I put it in the truck and cover it up with a tarp once I am done using it. If I leave the campsite, it is with me in the truck. If I am at the campsite or at night, getting it out of the truck and across all other junk in the bed would make enough noise to wake me up, and would take guts to open the truck, get in etc.

It's a Honda that is the warrenty......

Is there a lock for our tailgates? That would help slow down for some that have atv platforms.

I have scared myself by letting it run out of gas.... heard the air conditioner fan shut off one night..... i was outside in under 5 seconds to see if someone was taking it......

I pin my yamaha under the front of the truck against the side of the trailer... sit it next to the trailer and drive the front of the truck over it..... not enough room to remove it between the sides of the trailer and the front wheels on the truck....

I've seen a few that have a "U" welded to teh frame.. when they set up, they lower the trailer jack through the "U"... to steal it, you'd have to either cut the frame in two places( time consuming and loud) or jack the trailer up...
downside is that the ones I've seen like this are all on horse trailers with LQ, so it puts the gen right under the sleeping berth of the trailer.....
